We’ve set up this weblog because we are shortly going to Japan to visit our son and his fiancee (Matthew and Naomi), and to attend their wedding. We want our families and friends to be able to share the celebrations wherever they are in the world!
In December 2006, we held a party for 45 members of our family and friends of Matthew and Naomi. We knew that there would be lots of people who would like to celebrate with Matthew and Naomi, and who wouldn’t be able to travel to Japan. Matthew and Naomi came over from Japan for the party, together with nine members of her family. They also stayed with us over Christmas and New Year, and we had a magical time together.
The party was held at the Matara Centre on the Cotswolds, which was a perfect venue with its east-meets-west theme. The picture in our header was taken by Matthew’s friend, Greg Thurtle from TP Photography. Greg took lots of photos and you can see them on www.thurtlepower.com/wedding/gilliard
